CineIran Festival kicks off in Canada

The 3rd CineIran Festival in the Canadian city of Toronto has kicked off with the screening of a lineup of Iranian films.

CineIran Festival organizers selected a lineup of 13 Iranian films to be shown during the event in Canada, which kicked off on Friday, November 17.

The three-day festival features some Iranian films that have gone on to win a number of awards from various international film festivals around the world.

Among the films to be screened at the Toronto event include ‘Subdued’ directed by Hamid Nematollah, ‘No Date, No Signature’ by Vahid Jalilvand, Rambod Javan’s ‘Negar’, and Maziar Miri’s ‘Sara and Aida’.

The list goes on with ‘Blockage’ by Mohsen Qaraei, ‘Untaken Paths’ directed by Tahmineh Milani, ‘Azar’ by Mohammad Hamzei, and ‘Appendix’ directed by Hossein Namazi.

The lineup also includes Alireza Davoudnejad’s ‘Ferrari’, ‘Boarding Pass’ by Mehdi Rahmani, Mostafa Taqizadeh’s ‘Yellow’, ‘Israfil’ by Ida Panahandeh and Kazem Molaei’s ‘Kupal’.

CineIran Festival is an annual celebration of the best of contemporary Iranian cinema.

The festival aims to bring the most acclaimed Iranian films of the year to Toronto's screens in an effort to present a comprehensive cross-section and showcase the depth and diversity of this national cinema.

The third edition of the festival is scheduled for November 17-19, 2017, in Toronto, Canada.
